About Picomp

Picomp makes images smaller and converts them between formats, right in your browser.

Private by design

Your images never leave your device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. All the work happens on your own computer or phone, so it is just as safe for personal photos as for confidential files.

How it works

Picomp runs the same open-source encoders that professional tools rely on, including MozJPEG, libwebp, libaom and libjxl, compiled to run inside the browser. Each image is encoded, compared with the original and adjusted, so a photo and a flat graphic each get the settings that suit them instead of one fixed quality for everything.
